Something I learned many years ago while working with my commercial real estate developer clients is what I now call my Optimal Use Theory or O.U.T.
It's not a new practice however, my theory is that it can be applied to absolutely everything. And with 8 billion people on Earth that's almost certainly not new either.
Nonetheless.
What I learned many years ago now, is that when my clients would purchase or acquire land they would always look to develop the land for purposes which would yield the highest return for them and other investors.
Quite simply, how they could best use that asset.
I then examined other areas of business, other industries and markets and very quickly realised how underutilised optimal use is outside of what I observed in property development.
Sure, most business were utilising their resources well, but I saw and still see, so much potential and opportunity being left on the table each and every day simply due to businesses and organisations not demanding the most out of their resources.
This is a chance for you to ask some quality questions like: 'How can we get the most O.U.T of _____? How can we do _____ better? What will produce the most value? Is there a better way? Who should be the person/people doing it?
Ask yourself some quality questions, get yourself some quality answers and go get the most O.U.T of your business!
